I get up... And Nothing Gets Me down...
Mount Olive University's (No longer a College, but a fully fledged University), Men's Volleyball commenced their season last night.
For me at home, that mean setting my alarm clock at 1150, hitting myself in the face with my phone, waking Si up, so that he could hit himself in the face with the iPad, and then laying in bed, with two poorly synchronized devices, and what appeared to be a time-flux in the middle of the game, where we both jumped a few points in a flash of the screen, but there didn't appear to be any difference in the movement of the game.
Boy started and we both yelled at the scream, "stand still for the anthem". Playing Star Spangled Banner doesn't appear to evoke patriotism in Boy, despite having been there for 3½ years now. And he shook his legs, swung his arms, whilst we tried desperately to send "Be Still" messages telepathically.
The game was close - point them, point us, point them, point us. Any time UMO pulled away and the Commentator made reference - they lost service and points. But the Boys came through and won 3-0. And for Mum - There is always that bit of pride, when Boy's name appears on the Match Statistics - and for 2 Service Aces at that !
Happy Mum !
