Green

Today’s challenge is green and so after accompanying Mr A to the doctor’s surgery, we walked back via Elephant Green. It was a cold damp and misty day and I had not taken my proper camera; I only had the iPhone with me.

The local story is that many years ago, when a circus came to visit, one of the elephants died and was buried here in this patch of grass. I have never been able to find anything, which confirms this story and can only assume that it is a story made up by someone.

As we walked home, a man was walking in the same direction with his dog; he did not clear up after it. Mr A challenged him and told him that if he allowed his dog to do this in front of our house he would make him pick it up, would photograph him and send it to our local Newport News magazine. The man did not answer, but turned round and walked in the other direction; just a few people get good dog walkers a bad name.
