Da Cong

Thanks for all the comments on yesterday's blip. Yesterday I blipped cabbage that is left outside to dry at the start of winter.. At the moment, there are cabbage absolutely everywhere. The other veggie that gets dried outside at the start of winter is Da Cong. Most foreigners call them leeks but I have no idea. Maybe you guys can tell me.

We had the opening of our new school today and I was (of course) the official photographer. I took a bizzilion pics.. Right at the end of the day, this guy rode past with his cache of leeks for the drying. He stopped long enough to look into the school and get blipped... and then he rode off. He must have got a good price on them, cause that is a whackload of leeks.

A very close second today was this pic. I called it Two Too Cute. It's two amazingly adorable 5 years old Chinese identical twins.

EDIT: Someone asked yesterday whether the cabbage smell or go off. Not really, The nights are getting very cold and hey only stay outside for a few days because it's mostly taken inside and pickled for the winter. I imagine anyone caught stealing someone's cabbage (or leeks) would be severely dealt with. SEVERELY.
