Spaced out

Is this a sputnik, the latest intergalactic toy? No it isn't. It's a baby alarm and it's what allows me to sleep upstairs away from my elderly mother. Unfortunately she has taken to singing to herself in the wee small hours. Except that she's not singing just to herself. I hear it loud and clear through the baby alarm. This bad-tempered blip was taken around 4am this morning.
