Looking South

Treescape

I'm rapidly learning the standbys for a boring wet day when I haven't been anywhere much: trees, sky and sea can usually yield a reasonable photograph, no matter what the weather is and where you are. I'm also beginning to experiment with black and white. Because I grew up in the era when there was no alternative to black and white photos and black and white television, black and white always feels like a retrograde step. But it can be quite effective.

These trees were in St Peter's Churchyard, Bournemouth. There's a lovely protective canopy, even in pouring rain.
