The Squirrels Discover the Feeder

I was in the kitchen last night at five minutes before midnight. Lisa called down from upstairs..."There's a deer under the neighbor's apple tree!!" I grabbed my camera...not with a whole lot of enthusiasm...but I still grabbed it.

Don't you find it funny that I thought about the time? Before midnight...not Blip-eligible. So, I stalled for 5 minutes until the stroke of 12. IT'S TUESDAY NOW!!! SHOOT AWAY!!!

But, being the middle of the night...it was dark. No good light, with the ONLY light being the neighbors yard light on their back garage.

But, I did get proof that they are visiting. Turns out to be 4 deer. All females...does. Mother and kids...perhaps yearlings? Hard to tell.

Even as bad as the picture is...it might have been my blip until the squirrels showed up. 3 rodents in the search for food. Climbing the step...with a lot of pep. Scurrying up the ladder...using their foot-padders. Showing their strut...to get the nut. Risking a nosebleed...to get the seed. Going up the rung...to work their tongue.

OK...THAT'S ENOUGH!!
