The Taylor River Bed
This is a view I have blipped a few times before but it looks quite different at varying seasons of the year and at differing time of the day. The dark brooding mountain in the far distance is “The Ned” and is part of Tempello Station. The bright tawny coloured hills in the top right are part of Meadowbank Station. The greenish-yellow vegetation to the right of the mid-ground is fennel which is in full flower at present. The bees currently love the tiny yellow flowers on each fennel plant. I love to crush the feathery leaves in my hand as I walk by. They give off a rather nice aniseed-like smell.
If you look very carefully…perhaps in “large,” you will spot a small black object in the water in the bottom right hand corner of the image. That is Gypsy taking a quick dip. Although it was only around 9.am she was already feeling the heat. Later in the day a cool easterly breeze blew up and that kept the temperatures at a fairly cool level during the afternoon.
