Threatening Rain
There was no wind but quite a lot of clouds around at 5.30am. I was hoping for a brilliant Nor-West red sunrise as the forecast was for rain later today. You know...."Red sky in the morning - shepherd's warning". I was to be disappointed. By the time I had trudged up to the "Lookout" on the Wither Hills the sunrise had fizzed out. I made the most of my time on the hill capturing the somewhat moody skies . There certainly was rain in the air but not this morning on the Wither Hills side of the Valley. I could see it falling in the distant green vegetated Richmond Range where most of the rain falls in this area. But rain, lovely rain finally arrived late this afternoon and much more is forecast for tomorrow. Maybe then the Taylor River will re-emerge from its shingle bed in long stretches and fill up lots more swimming holes for the dogs and refuges for trout and eels.
