The Day the Universe gaveth
We went and saw Anchorman 2 this morning - just us and 2 other people. It was entertaining, I thought, but certainly not as hysterically funny as the first one.
On the way back we made a slippery stop at the Fish Hatchery for an equally slippery solo-walk. In one of the ponds the swans were all hanging out together, and I said hi and wondered if the mute swans would take over from the trumpeters here as well, but oh look they are sharing and that's rather nice and then I heard an odd swooshing noise and I saw 2 swans fly towards me. And towards me. *click* And towards me. "Holy Crap!"*click" And closer. "HOLY CRAP"*click* And I could feel the wind and hear their wings as they passed me within maybe 10 feet. It was crazy. Crazy.
I was still standing as still as I could minutes after they had passed. It really felt like a Boeing 747 passing overhead. Well, almost.
So I looked at the display of my camera, said HOLY CRAP again, thanked the swans, the hatchery and the universe and slithered back to the car.
