Made a gorgeous lunch after a long lie-in: chicory salad with walnuts, raisins and little bits of cheddar, with a lemon and parsley dressing. Then made chicken nuggets from scratch (the difference!) and had them with spelt soda bread and tomato salad, again dressed with loads of parsley and garlic.

Called over to see Carrie, Paddy, and the girls at their new house. Reine and Guillaume were there with their kids too. I brought Coquine and, after being there for about five minutes, she rolled in poo! Decided to try and wash her in the river, but once she was in, we couldn't get near her. So now I had a wet, pooey dog. Then she walked through loads of mud so I now had a wet, pooey, muddy dog. Brilliant to bring home in the car!
