The demolition of an old multi story car park in Newport.

I was there early as i didn't know how many would turn up to see the spectacle. It was cold, dark and quite early but i wasn't the first to take my position opposite the carpark. Then it was just a waiting game with only the sound of the birds to keep me company.

After a couple of ours waiting, the morning light shone on the condemned building. A loud siren echoed across Newport, the time was drawing near. A few minutes later a flare was shot into the sky, everyone held their breath and waited.

The first signs were movement in the plastic sheeting around the building before an almighty bang blasted out. The sound wave was so powerful you could feel it shoot through your body. It was an experience you certainly don't get every day.
