Tyler Morgan, Centre, @NewportRFC

Today Newport RFC played their local rivals Crosskeys RFC in the 5th round of the British and Irish cup, and although it was classed as a dead rubber there was a lot of pride at stake.

For so many years Newport were clearly the best side in Gwent (in my opinion) but you have to say that Crosskeys now hold that title. This season has already seen both team win one each, and today was round 3.

It started off with Newport dominating the game and going into a lead of 16-0. But, as usual, that wasnt the end of the story. Newport went into half time still with a healthy lead and just had to keep up the momentum after the break.

Well that didnt happen did it, Crosskeys came back with everything they had and took the lead and started to pull away. The image above is of Tyler Morgan making a fantastic break which lead to major pressure on the Crosskeys try line. Tyler himself ended up finishing up scoring a powerful try. That try made the score 21-27 with not a lot of time left. So it was left to GOD (Geraint O'Driscoll) to do the business with another 2 penalties to make the scores even at 27 all.

I suppose at the end of a very entertaining match it was the right result, well may be, I wish we had won though.
