View of Portsmouth from Portsdown Hill

What a glorious day. Fabulous sunshine all day, so took myself out and went to the top of Portsdown Hill which overlooks Portsmouth.

To the middle right of the shot, in the distance is the Spinnaker Tower at the entrance to the harbour. You can also see the Isle of Wight beyond the Tower, to the left of it (in the middle) is Portsmouth itself.
still in the middle of the shot, there is a small green area which used to be the Tipner firing range where the Navy and Marines practised their arms rifle skills.

In the foreground, the Port Solent Marina with all the Yachts and motor boats in and just above are empty fields very often used for local shows and exhibitions.

To the right of the marina you will see the jetty that yachts and motor boats moor while waiting to enter the marina via a lock. Tide is low at the moment.

A nice sunny day for a change and very clear with it.

Enjoy.
