Christmas Day with the second cousins
Very early wake up call on Christmas day. Got up at 2.30am so I could finish packing my bag and then strip the bed and clean the sink after using it. Duncan had his coffee before we headed to the airport and because it was Christmas, Harvey got to sit in the back seat of Lucy's car instead of the boot. Took about an hour and a half to get there. It was very was saying bye to Duncan. Felt quite low in the airport whilst waiting for the plane. Plane left at 6.30am and slept most of the way until I arrived at 9.30 in Adelaide. When I came out of the arrivals I met Lesley, Lucy, Max and Jess. We all headed straight to the beach. Jess and I got a surprise at these fancy public loos. Everything was automatic!! It was funny as Lesley sounded like she felt up to date with modern things! We met the Poores on the beach. The sea was absolutely freezing as the water comes from the Antarctica which was a bit of a surprise but I was brave and got in with Lola, Charlotte and Max. We buried Lola first and then Max. It was funny as I tickled Max and he couldn't do anything about it. We had lots of shark stories at the beach. Think a couple of shark attacks have happened at Brighton beach. We all went back to Lesley's house for lunch. Had a salad, sausage rolls and eggs. We all didn't want to eat too much because of Christmas dinner later on. The Poores went back to Karen and Marks house. I had a shower and they told me to have a nap. Slept for 10 minutes and then Max came in and then Jess! Do didn't sleep too long as I was just chatting to them. We all headed to
Mark and Karen's house. Helped them cook a couple of things. Met their family for the first time. Hugo is their son and Karen had a son from her husband before called Josh. They are both pretty wild! Yummy dinner with everyone. I sat on the 'adult' table and Jess and Max were on the other table. Got money from everyone as a present which is very useful. Played UNO with the girls...not really sure about the rules! Had a pretty good chat with everyone there. Super sad saying goodbye to the Sayers. Lucy was crying which made me have a tear in my eye! Did 45 minutes up into the hills to Sarah and Craig's house. They have such a lovely house there. They have an AGA which made me feel at home!! They had quite an English style to their house which was nice. They both liked the presets I gave them. The room I am sleeping in is really nice. We all had quite a late night!
