Wallace Monument from Gillies Hill

It was a much changed day today with sun and blue skies from early on. We had a rather quick walk up in the woods and to the top of the hill. my initial intention was to blip a blue sky, so rare has that been recently, but instead found myself zooming in on the Monument, having tried similar on the castle some time ago. The resultant shot also just takes in the profile of the Top of the Town with the Holy rude Church bottom right, the castle gift shop is the white building in the middle and the walls of the castle itself in the bottom left.
The reason for a quick walk was that we went to an early showing of The Hobbit i.e. part 2 of this epic version of a very short book. As with part 1 it is brilliantly filmed and the story rattles along pretty smartly.....I just hope I remember how this bit ended when I see part 3 because it does end fairly abruptly .
