Country in the city

A different blip today. One of the joys of living in Edinburgh is that it has huge amounts of green space which are easily accessible for many people. Today it was glorious weather and we decided in the late morning to walk along the canal in the opposite direction, away from the city. The canal goes all the way to Falkirk and links with the Forth canal which allows you to travel by barge to Glasgow. The path branches off and links into Colinton Dell which is a wonderful place for strolling or walking with dogs. You can walk in complete countryside for around 10 miles. When we went, it was unusually quiet and tranquil for most cyclists were at work. The mud was drying up and the birds were both active and noisy. A simple pub lunch and then off for a couple of hours to help a friend of 83 who has just bought an iPAd.
