At Home: Walking cats and dogs!
Historically, Tiger our dog-cat has walked the fields with us. We call him a dog-cat because he has a part personality of a dog. When we walk out from home, Tiger walks with us. He strolls casually by the heels of the children. When they run ahead, he shoots past and through their legs at speed, as if proving he can out run them.
This evening, we quickly got booted and suited for the walk. For the first time, Eva our new puppy was to pulling at the lead to head out on her first walk with us. We had already thought of Tiger, and how he would react to an actual Dog, taking over his position as 'Dog". He was nowhere to be seen, until we turned the first corner down the lane. The children, in mid comment on how sad it was that Tiger had taken the hump over his replacement, when he sped through our legs!
The children cheered, and Sam picked him up. Unfazed by Eva, he relished the carry, and then when put down sped up the lane with the boys. Eva pulled on her lead.
Feline - canine relations improving: clearly!
