Red Ribbon on Gillies Hill

Part of the path on Gillies Hill which goes towards Polmaise is designated as "Linda's Path" in memory of a lady from the village who died a few years ago. This was apparently one of her favourite paths and she was strong supporter of the Save Gillies Hill campaign . Throughout the year flowers are occasionally left by this tree by family and friends and an evergreen wreath has been here over the festive season. what struck me today however was ythe vibrant red of the ribbon which could be seen from quite a distance away, standing out amid the dull greys and greens of the surrounding vegetation
