Happy Birthday!
My boy turned 3 today!
First stop was school where he had his "birthday walk," a tradition in Montessori Children's Houses.
At our school, the teacher tells the story of the child's birth, shows a picture, and then the child takes the globe and walks it around the sun while the children sing, "The Earth goes around the sun...and now ___________ is one!" Then a little bit about the child when he was one and another trip around the sun. Etc.
My boy was hilarious when it came to handling the globe. He can actually palm it with one hand (his fingers are amazing!), but he fumbled it so many times it was comical. Oh, and he licked the globe too. That's my boy!
He is so sweet, cuddly, interactive, active, and funny. Always entertaining us. My sister-in-law's mom called him a "corker" on New Year's Day. I looked it up...a corker is an excellent or astonishing person or thing. That is accurate, I'd say.
Yesterday, when I was working on his "birthday story" to give to his teacher, I was going over the list of things we'd like to remember about him as a 2-year-old with my husband. Things like playing with trucks and trains and tools and stuffing his mouth as full as it can go were on the list. The boy chimed in at then end saying, "he loves his sister." What a sweet, sweet child.
I saved his nice, plain, black shirt for today. He's wearing it under that terribly commercial, 2nd hand sweatshirt. He didn't take it off and I forgot to prompt him. Oh well. It's reality!
