River Runs Deep
After yesterday's distant, lofty view, we got a closer look at the flooding during our bike ride today. The water in the foreground is the River Brue, almost to the top of its banks, with the fields beyond flooded (this shows what the water level was like in almost the same spot a few days ago, only looking to the left). We're comparatively lucky : further down in South Somerset, villages like Muchelney (the name appropriately means Big Island in Saxon), are completely surrounded and only accessible by boat - you may have seen it featured in the National TV news yesterday.
Our Tuesday golf round fell foul of the weather again, with the course still closed.
