Roses in February

A bright gift from one of the lunch ladies today. The vase is, in fact, a celery holder which belonged to the grandmother of my husband. I use it all the time for flowers, as it is so pretty, even though it has 'celery' clearly etched in the glass!
Made broad bean and ham soup to use up the rest of the Christmas ham. Was surprised how tasty it was. I have a lot of cookery books but still resort to on-line recipes from time to time.
Got drenched getting the newspapers this morning. I was wearing a mac but had to change my trousers when I got home as wet through from the knees down! The hailstones were lying around like snow. Can the ground take any more water?
