Windswept
Today was so windy - like, I feel Melbourne is a fairly windy place but this afternoon we had unexpected gale force winds and a lot of rain. Nice one, Melbourne...
Amita's home! She's been away for what feels like forever (although it was only a few weeks) because she left while we were in Queensland and has also spent all of this year not in Melbourne, so I feel like I haven't seen her in ages. Now she's back for good which is really exciting! We met for brunch this morning in St Kilda, somewhere I don't really get to very often. We went to a pretty nice cafe in Acland Street, which I guess is the Brunswick Street of St Kilda - lots and lots of restaurants and shops. It was so nice to catch up with Amita, and with the others although I've seen all of them much more recently!
Afterwards I went back into the city and swung by JB to finally pick up Lorde's album with my Christmas gift voucher (thanks Dad!) having read this fabulous interview. Two of my fave ladies chatting together - I can't think of anyone who wouldn't find something to love in this article, so I encourage everyone to go forth and read!
Having woken up pretty early to Skype a friend in England (damn this eleven hour time difference, I can't wait until daylight savings ends!), I had a quiet evening watching Foyle's War (Dad's fave show).
This photo is a bit over-exposed (look at that sky! Ugh) but it's much more in focus than the other one. I like that the wind (which was bearable at that point) makes the girls look rather glam, with their hair all windswept and everyone in dark sunglasses.
