Tulienda baharini

Piled nineteen excited kids and four adults into a matatu and headed to the beach.

The kids sang the whole way there - a little Swahili ditty about [insert name here] being a beautiful flower. We started off with 'teacher' being the flower, then Rose, then B, then me, then the driver, then all of them, then it got silly and even the road was beautiful. Would have loved to have some video footage of it.

The singing was interrupted only by occasional whispers of, "I can see it!!!" and, on arrival, they all quickly stripped down to their jocks and raced into the water. All that is, except Pendeza, who had to stop and put her red velvet leotard on!

Three hours of beach fun, swimming and splashing about even when their teeth started chattering as their tiny bodies couldn't keep out the cold of the water.

Saw sunset and ate dinner at Members tonight, then home where I sat in the comfy chair and listened to music for a couple of hours. Definitely a world away from night shifts and exams.
