Last night I committed a huge faux pas.

The invitation said "Birthday Party. From 7.30"

Being a sad loner on my own I decided to get there for about 8.30

At 8.10 as I was climbing out of the bath there was a phone call..

"Where are you? We were expecting you for dinner at 7.30"
"I'm on my way" I replied.
The quickest hair-dry-make-up-and-dress ensued, I arrived as they (All 11 of them - and I only knew the hosts) were tucking into their main course.

Ooops! But what a super evening!

Lovely people, great fun, delicious food.

I re-read the invitation when I got home at 1 a.m. That's what it said.

I'll know next time - if there is a next time!
