Snowberries in January

Yesterday I chose to blip a plant thriving inside, but today it's the fruit of a plant that survives outside despite all the winter weather throws at it. The snowberry bush would be all but invisible were it not for its berries supported on slender branches that bob in the breeze.

I've blipped them on numerous occasions. Perhaps the starkest contrast to its summer appearance is the composite I took on 17th August showing the lovely little pink flowers beside a visiting wasp, and the new berries below. I planted this bush because the berries are supposed to sustain overwintering birds. However, I've never seen a bird near them. Maybe I'm feeding our feathered friends too well in the back garden!
