Formidable ladies

This photo of the British Curtis Cup team of 1936, played 40 miles or so down the road in Gleneagles, is just outside my hotel room here in St Andrews. I'd love to know what these formidable ladies had to say about the dinosaur attitude towards them of some in the sport. Hard to say what's worse, the discrimination they had to put up with then, or the continuing nonsense that women golfers have to put up with now. To be fair, the dinosaurs of golf were a lot younger in 1936. No excuse now.
