Big bro meets new baby. The home birth family I attended on Monday are all getting to know each other. Both boys are real cuties with blonde hair and big blue eyes.
I am so glad I made to change to being a self employed midwife. It doesn't feel like work at all and I get to spend as much time as is needed with families in the space of their home. No more hectic hospital mutli tasking with a phone clamped to each ear and a queue of people needing to talk to me urgently and have whatever it is they want done by yesterday. This is real grass roots midwifery. The translation of midwife from Middle English in about 1300 - 'being with woman'. That is what I am doing and it feels great :o)
