A Roof With a View

I awoke to a wet and miserable day in Birmingham, but the view from the fourteenth floor was still fabulous. After a good breakfast we went for a mooch around the new library, it was literally across the road from the hotel. It is amazing inside and we went right up to the top to have a look inside the Shakespeare memorial room. We then visited the Arts Museum before heading to the station.

When we checked the train times ours had been cancelled. It was twenty two minutes past twelve, our cancelled train should have been just before one. We asked what we should do and were told we would have to get on the half past one train, we could try the half twelve train but it would be doubtful, but we could ask the guard....five minutes to go, we ran down to the platform, our carriage was naturally miles away at the front. Carole jumped on and headed through the carriages, Ellen and I followed. I cracked people's knees and ran over feet with my case as I tried to catch Carole. One minute to go.

As we entered the last carriage Carole came back...yes we could stay on...phew. We slumped down and got our breath back.

Now I'm just chilling, watching an old film and about to go through all the pics I took yesterday.
