Sink & Sunglasses

Day 4 of 365. Another terrible day weather wise today - it's rained non-stop for most of the day so the chance of taking a shot outdoors was very limited indeed. So I decided to take a shot indoors instead and ended up in the bathroom! For some reason I never spotted these outsize sunglasses behind the sink - maybe I'm too much of a zombie first thing in the morning to notice anything other than my toothbrush!
However, it also got me thinking about what we photograph, when and why. Sometimes the surreal, strange and wonderful are in the most banal or ordinary place if only we could look a bit harder. I particularly like the following two quotes from William Eggelston:

"I had this notion of what I called a democratic way of looking around, that nothing was more or less important"

"It quickly came to be that i grew interested in photographing whatever was there wherever I happened to be. For any reason"

Maybe we all need to listen less to the negative thoughts in our heads and take the picture anyway!
