SCOT:LANDS

Woke up hangover free and after a quick breakfast, we headed into town to queue at the Museum for the first postcard in a series of 9, which would lead us round the Old Town, visiting various venues while discovering and enjoying the rich and diverse musical heritage of Scotland.

Turns out about 200 other folk had the same idea.

Made it to the front of the queue, took a spin of the wheel and we were off. First venue was St Giles's Cathedral. The music was lovely, the dance was modern and involved lots of paper, and Mark Cousins decided to sit beside us.

Over the next 4 hours we walked across the Old Town, collecting postcards which revealed our next destination and got to enjoy some great music. A couple of the venues were so busy, we didnt get a chance to see the acts, which was a shame.

Our final destination was Old St Paul's, under the North Bridge, where we saw The Found Collective - a candlelit musical experience.....including the ever wonderful RM Hubbert. A lovely way to spend New Year's Day.

We decided that starting the year with a Hubby gig was a sign of a great 2014 ahead.

Now time for jammies, heating and Sherlock!

* by the way, Hubby's feet aren't on fire, it was a load of lit candles in front of him!
