"open fire"

For those of us who live away from home in rented accommodation, an open fire is like a homing beacon to us!

As is the service of 9 lessons and carols in my home church. My friends and I use it as the benchmark for getting home for Christmas every year - we all must be present and correct in time for carol singing overload! This service, like that of the guinness advert on tv, the carols by candlelight service in Dundee, and advent calendar opening, signals Christmas for me.
