All is calm, all is bright

The most beautiful Winter's day.

Great Granny's Tree looked perfect, strong and still against the bright blue sky and strips of cloud she painted from up high. E delighted in unwrapping her hobby horse and racing around the farmhouse and following the now quite grown up chicks around outside asking repeatedly "what do they like to eat?" Followed by "ooh...disgusting!" When I answered, "flies and spiders." We searched for Tony the cockerel too and found him hiding in the forest, E surmised, "'cos it's a bit chilly." We left laden with whiskey, money for the girls' money boxes, a hobby horse, eggs and 2/3 of a sack of potatoes. Uncle Joe would give us his all and his last and we're so grateful for his salt of the earth character and love in our lives.

Next stop, Ava's first birthday where there was pizza, pastries, presents and lots of people to celebrate a special, just toddling little lady.

And then back to the comfort of Mum and Dad's for tea to revive us, more amazing presents, food and entertainment (mainly courtesy of Eva, her princess slippers and Granny and the hobby horse).
