Needless to say Dame H is THE supremo DS as Jane Tennison and the seven series of Prime Suspect have been must see telly over a couple of decades.
Enter Gillian Anderson as DS Stella Gibson in The Fall set in Belfast and she is a very feisty, take no hostages Met Police officer brought in to review a going nowhere investigation.

And the book is on our book club list for the year.

I first saw GA as Scully in the X Files (another huge evening must see in our house) and then surprised to see her in some very different roles with an English accent over the years.
Wiki has explained all that and with an early life in both the UK and the US she can switch between accents (bidialectal), depending on the setting.
