A slice of Lesley's life

Diner

Early morning madness making pancakes for my nieces before waving them off for their Dutch excursion, and making the house look vaguely decent for guests who will probably arrive before us on Sunday (we'll aim to make up for it in cocktails and curry), and packing last minute items for our Parisian mini-break. Which is where you now find me and this delicious tuna and mango amuse-bouche.

In between the two there was some painless Eurostaring and finding our hotel. Joyously for us all it has a television per child. Amusingly for us all they are loving playing the likes of minesweeper, Tetris and patience like iPads were yet to be invented. And very best of all is when they find a bomb in minesweeper it says "Buum!" Managed to tear them away for a dip in the pool before a steak dinner. And now I am back in the room with a glass of red wine and my great new book (Gone Girl, Gillian Flynn).

Pretty much the point of this trip is to recharge the batteries in between our two bouts of hosting. So far it is working just perfectly.
