The Black Pearl 2

It was windy but bright and sunny so we headed for New Brighton to walk along the promenade and blow away any remaining cobwebs.

It was a glorious day. I like the combination of the natural beauty of the sea and tackiness of the seaside resort. Much of the tackiness has disappeared with recent improvements to the promenade.

As we walked back to the car the tide was coming in and the sun was setting. A wonderful combination as the sunlight picked out the crashing white horses. I didn't take any photos of the waves but two intrepid photographers did make their way across the rocks and down onto the beach to capture the waves breaking over the sea defences.

I have photographed The Black Pearl before.

I even allowed myself to take a couple of shots in colour.
