Gluten free fish and chips
Been wanting to visit Mothertown Fish and Chips for a while now as they do gluten free fish and chips at anytime (some just have it on certain days). Due to the car fiasco last week, we decided to try again and offered to take Grandma out for a chippy lunch. We each had small fish, chips and peas (or mushy peas) and Chris went for battered chips rather than regular. Mine was gluten free (cooked in a separate fryer) but Grandma and Chris' was regular. We all loved it and have recommended it to others we know - both coeliacs and the non-gluten free!
After lunch we went back to Grandma's and had a lovely chat. She told us about some of the stories from her childhood/early adulthood which we hadn't heard before which was really interesting. I hope we get many more opportunities to learn more about Grandma and her past.
We also visited my brother and his girlfriend in the evening and had a lovely homemade shepherds pie, admired their Christmas decorations (it's their first Christmas living together), and played Buzz on the Playstation. Chris took great delight in winning two games of Buzz, one of which I was way ahead until the last round!
