Blue haze

The house we are staying in is surrounded by orchards. In fact the owner of our house makes his own apple juice, and rather good it is too. This afternoon we walked out with the children and, as the sun was going down, it created a sort of blue haze over the apple trees, which I thought was rather interesting.

We have had a wonderful couple of days together and now the family is dispersing. Younger daughter and husband caught an early morning flight to Singapore, en route for a two week trip to Auckland and Sydney. Just a pity that the holiday was built around tickets for the cricket in the new year! We return north on Saturday. We had planned a day in London tomorrow, but it looks like the anticipated return of the high winds may play havoc with trains into the city, so we will see.
