Long-term parking

For the past couple of days I have been meaning to blip these two tug boats but unfortunately on my compact camera they appears as mere pin pricks, so today I took my SLR and a decent sized telezoom. These two boats have been parked or rather moored out to sea off Belhaven Bay for over a week now. I presume they are not needed over the Xmas break and their owners decided to moor them sufficiently far out the Forth Estuary to avoid estuary mooring fees. This happens quite a lot and we often get tankers or cargo boats moored off the coastline here. If they proceed further on to North Berwick they then become liable for charges. However, the tankers and cargo boats tend to moor a lot further out to sea and it is unusual for boats to be be moored quite so close to the coastline. One can't help feeling sorry for the crews, so close to land and yet missing the Xmas festivities at home. They have been there soo long now they do not even appear on my ship app.
