A tradition has begun

It seemed like a good idea at the time, and so it was! The first Cloughjordan Xmas dunk.
The plan was hatched in the warm pub and grew legs quickly. It's been a tradition in West Cork to go for the Christmas morning swim (in the sea). We have a small Brook running through the village (some would call it a ditch and to be fair it's been empty of much resembling water since we moved here in Oct. But its been a wet month and its now full).
11.00 on the dot, saw the whole village turn out to cheer the swimmers. We jumped in, all the way up to our knees. The laughing was awesome! After all of 3 minutes splashing, screaming and cold extremities we were treated to hot chocolate, hot mulled wine and hot soup from Sandy and Trish.
After the arduous trek home (about 30 secs) and a hot shower in our super warm house, it was off for a day of festive food and fun with various neighbors (about 15 sec walk max). All those years of cars, boggy tracks and travelling over the mountains to see ones loved ones, it is pretty good living here right now!

A minor hiccup today;
Buying Hubs a ladies T shirt, the neck line and tightness give him a certain lady boy look. Personally I liked it.......
Happy Xmas Blippers :0) xx
