Countdown to Christmas - Warming the Brandy!

Phew!

The day started early with a text from my brother at 6.30 a.m to say his electricity was back on after 20 hours, so he would be able to host the away match after all!

Contingency plans were put in place late last night for him to bring turkey and all over here should his power still be off!

6.45 am walk dogs (I have a friend's dog staying as well as mine!)
7.30 Drive to mum's on icy roads and take her to church.
9.00 a.m breakfast at mum's.
Muck out mum's 3 horses and do her horsey chores.
10.30 Drive home, prepare smoked salmon starters and cheese board.
11.30 Drive to mum's, sort her out and then take her onto the Big Brother's house.
13.00 - 16.00 Eat. Drink and be merry!
16.00 - 17.00 Presents given and received by assembled family & friends.
18.00. Take mum home, do chores.
19.00 Walk dogs
19.45. Drive to another branch of the family for the evening.
11.45 Drive home,
00.15 walk dogs.
00.30 Blip (with a well deserved night cap - after a rather 'dry' day due to being the designated chauffeur.)
Bed!

Thankful to have family to share my day.

Hug of the week goes to the BT - Outreach engineer who fixed Mum's phone line at 4 p.m. yesterday, after a large tree fell across the lane to her house on Monday night, taking the overhead cable down with it.

And to her lovely neighbours who sawed up the tree and cleared the lane - just because they saw it needed to be done.
