2 hours at nursery and a poorly babba :-(

I'm actually writing this on Christmas Eve, Eva's first one, whilst she is sat on her Daddy's lap watching Toy Story 2 and chattering away happily .... Xxx

Back to today ...

Eva had her next settling in session at nursery booked in today from 9 til 11 am, but she didn't even wake up til 8.10 am, so it was a rush getting her there on time. We didn't have time for cereal in the end, she just had milk from me and off we set (me, Mike, Jake and Eva) and got there right on time. Jake waited in the car, and Mike and I took her in. I gave her a big cuddle, said "bye bye" and handed her to Mandy, and left. It was awful leaving her there, I so hoped she'd be ok.

I'd reserved a table for 3 at Becketts for breakfast for just after 9 am, with it being right next to Eva's nursery, I thought ideal if we get some brekkie there as a treat while we wait to collect her. We went for the huge platter for 2 but asked for 3 plates, and it was humongous! We still couldn't eat it all.

11 o clock arrived and Jake came in with me to see Eva's nursery and fetch her. We could hear her crying from out in the corridor before we even walked in the baby room :-( she was sat on Mandy's lap and Mandy was trying to distract her with some sparkly snow (aka glitter mixed into flour) and the spoons and sieves, to not much avail. She clung onto me when I took her from Mandy and cried for me with her arms out to me when Jake took her from me for a cuddle, poor baby :-( based on this, the nursery have booked her in for another 2 hour session on Monday, before a final 4 hour one next Friday before she starts for real the following Monday.

Dougie came round with presents for us when we got back, which was such a lovely surprise. I gave Eva the cereal she hadn't had earlier, she had cuddles on my lap for a bit, then I took her up for some milk and her sleep, before going out myself to get my last bits of Christmas shopping and to see Suzanna for a coffee.

When I got back around 4.30, Eva was upset, I thought after I wish I hadn't gone out with her already missing me for 2 hours this morning. She was red hot when I felt her, and on checking her temperature it was over 39 degrees. I gave her some calpol and some milk, and she just sat quiet on my lap, cuddled into me. Even when my dad popped round with the veggies for Christmas Day, she just sat quiet. She didn't want her dinner either. I took her to change her nappy a bit later, and could just see a bit of tooth starting to break through her top gum, to the right of her top incisors. Later that night her temperature shot up to over 39 again, I was worried to go back to sleep myself. I gave her more calpol (this was around 1 in the morning by this stage) and in the end saw that Leah was online, so Facebook messaged her for her advice. The calpol did bring it down, but by 7 am it was back up to over 38, so more calpol and again it came back down. It was 36.7 when I checked it shortly after, so again the calpol did it's job. I was so worried about her, just awful to have my baby girl feeling so rubbish :-( made me feel even worse about leaving her that day. Today's pic was taken in the early hours, after I'd taken the blanket off her to help cool her down xxxxx
