Cake and biscuits .. check

Worked today until 3pm and now I am off until the 2nd of January!!! Wohoo to stopping work today but boo to this weather and the fact I have 2 places in my house leaking. One from the flat kitchen roof and one from above the patio doors. I have been saving all year to replace my front room floor and get a new dinning table but I guess I can kiss goodbye to that and pay for repairs instead. Boo. On the plus side at least I have the savings or I wouldn't have the money to repair either. So silver linings and all that.

Once I had finished today the children and I braved the awful weather and roads and got the last few bits of food and drink needed for over Christmas. Then once home it was time to finish decorating the Christmas cake and make reindeer biscuits for cousins, aunties etc. We had great fun and sang along to carols as we made them.

I would like to say the day wore them out and that they are fast asleep, but the excitement of Christmas is truly upon them and it is now nearly 10pm and it is only in the last few minutes that they seem to have finally gone quiet. Now they have I can finally go up to bed with a hot toddy. Yes as per usual when I have any time off I am starting to feel ill. My body has been holding off this bug for days but now I think it is here. Bah humbug!!!!
