Gloom and sparkles
Ok, you have to look with the eye of faith - but the sparkles are there all right, on the bushes to the left of the photo. By the time we got out today - and it was midday, not dusk - the cloud was right down over the forest and a steady sleet was soaking everything, us included. This is the only photo I took - too much faff to get the phone out - and I didn't notice at the time that there are layers in the mists across the loch in the Bishop's Glen, so that you can tell near trees from further away ones. The loch used to be one of two that supplied Dunoon's water; the upper one has now reverted to the floor of the glen with the burn running through it.
I find it helps me feel better about this awful day if I imagine this picture was taken in Russia - Russian Karelia looked a bit like this when we were there!
