Quiet high tide
The mood of a shore changes with the tides. Often, the sea is quite far back below the wall of Dunoon's West Bay promenade; at other times the waves batter at the concrete and spill stones and seaweed over the tarmac. But today the water was just there, quiet, black, stirring gently. There was little sound, and few people - though two of them can be made out on the slipway.
But the best thing of all was that it wasn't raining.
