"glitter and gold"

So technically I've stolen this picture from the photographer herself but seeing as its Mim, I hope she won't mind! :)

I don't get to see Mim as much as I would like/should during the year but when we do manage to catch up you'll usually find us in the nearest cafe having a natter, accompanied by a hot chocolate and a slice of cake!

Today I met her to tackle the Edinburgh Christmas markets! After a wander around the various stalls, I remembered that at the same time last year, while enjoying a hugely over-priced lemonade in the Harvey Nic's cafe, we agreed that next Christmas we would treat ourselves properly. So this year there was only one place to go - The Dome! :)

And it did not disappoint! A hot chocolate, warm mini mince pie and a cosmopolitan later, and it was back out into the cold for chocolate covered marshmallows (the way to my heart), watching the ice skating and a chance to rediscover our childhoods on the carousel! We took it that seriously we even scouted out the horses we wanted and raced past little kids to get them! Shame on us! haha!

It was then time to say goodbye as she handed me over to the care of my cousin Chris and his wife Emily who I was spending the weekend with. Another browse of the markets, consideration to give the Star-flyer ride a go before chicken-ing out, and a Pimm's Hot Toddy followed before heading back to their new home to warm the toes!
