Springtime in December

Today it felt like springtime. It was warm enough to go without a jacket and all the snow was quickly melting. People were out in full shopping mode, which caused major traffic on the roads. I took time out from my last minute shopping to grab an iced coffee at Starbucks this afternoon.
I snapped this photo of everyone sitting outside enjoying the warm weather because it is so unusual to see at this time of year. I too sat outside with my husband and with our coffees in hand; we relaxed in the sunshine for almost an hour.
While I was sitting there, I looked up from my table and was within eyesight of this! I totally understand people relaxing and enjoying the day but to take your shoes off and put your bare feet up on the chair while other people are eating is just plain gross! The person had obviously parked himself in that spot for a while since he was smoking a cigar and reading a book along with his iced coffee. I had to make a conscious effort not to let my eyes wander near the direction of his feet!

After we got home, we did all the gift-wrapping. That took almost two hours. It seemed so strange to be wrapping Christmas gifts when it was almost 70 degrees outside! I imagine this is what it feels like to be living in Florida or California at this time of year. Just last week we were ankle deep in snow.
