Approach to Innsbruck.
The pilot has to be specially licensed to land in Innsbruck airport. The runway is surrounded by mountains and is very short. One year the flaps wouldn't extend far enough and we were diverted to Verona. A guy that looked the spitting image of Super Mario climbed onto the wing and hit it with a ball hammer!! The engines were turned off and back on to re-boot and we took off and landed back at Innsbruck.
Anyway, our travel was uneventful (thank goodness!) and we have had a wonderful meal cooked by our Crystal hosts which was goats cheese and caramelised onion tart, beef goulash and toffee sponge. All washed down by local wine. Very nice.
After dinner we popped over the road to the Coup to see Christof and book a table for Thursday (our chalet hosts day off) and partake of a little bit more local wine...
We met up with the daughter (and her bf) of our best friends who are in Australia for the Ashes (oops!!) and have planned where we will ski tomorrow.
Little Logan was so good on the plane but got overtired and didn't have a proper meal at the right time all day so he took a while to get to sleep this evening. Hopefully he'll sleep ok and they can join us on the Ahorn tomorrow for lunch.
The White Lounge on top of the Ahorn is my favourite place to rest on a sunny day. I shall blip it at least once this week, I'm sure! ;-)
