To Seek Shelter
I had to go Douglas today to attend a tribunal meeting and then, more importantly, to have our Christmas lunch.
The weather forecast was truly appalling and I knew it would be wise to get off home early. On my way home driving North over Onchan Head I noticed this particular rig was close inshore in Douglas Bay in order to seek shelter from the south-westerly gales.
The photo does no justice to the size of this structure and I suspect that it is more usually to be seen in the Morecambe Gas Field.
I did get out of the car to take this shot but really things were pretty dismal...
