Not a lot happening today. Our plans of traveling were altered due to a few last moment changes and we had no option but to stay back. Was browsing through a publication of Henri Cartier-Bresson's Scrapbook among other photography. It was rather astounding. The compositions are magnificent, to say the least. They are so "inclusive" and yet so coherent. For a storyteller or a poet, they could be of much influence. And this alone is often a measure of good photography.

Couple of days back, when I walking through the busy tram-track etched roads of College street amid all the din, there was a beautiful guitar version of Fur Elise playing on a loudspeaker. This would be most unusual for other Indian cities. I stopped by to listen to it for a moment and marveled at how the chaos around was transformed in the light of the music. In Hyderabad, most people wouldn't even be aware of the likes of Beethoven, though in Calcutta people grow up with these names as much as the names of masters in the East. The acumen for culture here does live up to the it's reputation.

We did have a lunch of delightful Chinese at a restaurant called 'Haka' and spent some time loitering, soaking in the atmosphere before we could buy some necessities for dinner. Dinner was with family and relatives. Some good food, loads of laughter and plans for the forthcoming days - that's what it was about. Much to look forward to. All remnants of tradition to be followed again. Even the waving from car windows when it disappeared into the lane lit by golden lights on both sides. The Pujas have begun.
