A Walk in the Woods
Last night it sounded as if there wouldn't be too many trees left standing this morning but luckily everything was still in one piece and it was a glorious day for a walk in the woods.
We cycled up to the Nature Centre and had a nice walk to the bird hide. We saw loads of squirrels, birds, ducks, nests etc and the Little Misses had fun running about, pointing things out and doing brass rubbings of animal shapes dotted about the place.
So everything was lovely.
Then we got to the bird hide and Miss E flipped a switch and started shouting, stamping her feet and generally behaving like the worst kind of brat. All because I asked her and Miss L to stop climbing all over me in their haste to see out of the windows.
Aaaagghhhhhhhh!!!!!!
It's always quite up and down here. The good bits are fantastic but the bad bits are so stressful. And so depressing - making you wonder what's the point.
I suppose it's a bit like childbirth - throughout the year I forget the bad bits and can't wait to come back!!
We had a late lunch and then headed to the pool for the afternoon.
More of the same - flumes, inflatable dinghy rides, waves, pirate ship slides and lots and lots of swimming.
We remembered the fireworks in the nick of time and got out, showered and changed in record time. We rushed up to the lake just as the music started and the fabulous fireworks started. Short but spectacular.
It was tipping down with rain but we enjoyed it regardless.
And the Little Misses didn't moan!
And Santa appeared on a lit up speed boat on the lake which was quite dramatic.
And Mr K and I got wet bottoms cycling home!
